Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

They key is reading, knowing, understanding and holding onto the sayings of Jesus.

My daughter loves her cartoon shows. Daily she watches them and sits quietly taking in all the images and sounds. Sometimes she laughs and laughs, other times she's just intently watching, and other times she's dancing to the songs. As the years have passed her mother and I have noted that she acts out some of the cartoon characters, has picked up some of the sayings and even names her dolls and bears after some of the cartoon characters and then there are the songs which she has learned and sings from time to time. She's only 5 years old.

Now imagine a teenager free to watch and view whatever television program or movie that's on the television or cable?

Do you know what you're kids are watching on television?

I love music. Over the years and before becoming a Christian, I listened to various types of music. From easy listening to that good old rock and roll. Then the days and seasons came when I was introduced to praise and worship music through attending a local church. I came to love praise and worship music and over the years have put together quite a collection of various artists and songs.

More importantly something happened deep inside of me through the years of not just listening to praise and worship music, but experiencing it. You might ask what that means? Well what I learned is that when you worship the Lord God through praise and worship from the depths of your heart, God shows up, heaven comes to earth and you experience God's love and presence in great abundance.

You see, God planned it that way. There is such a wonderful and beautiful fellowship that takes place when one seeks the Lord through praise and worship. Heaven truly comes to earth. The very sweetness of God filled with love and compassion. Just imagine God, inhabitting your very praises !

I realize that we are far from the Christmas Holidays. However I wanted to make mention of all the wonderful organizations that collect toys for children and send them off to the children of the world. One that comes to mind is Operation Christmas which is a wonderful way to share the gift of love. There are many great organizations out there that truly do a great job.

Put a smile on a child's face this holiday season and donate to a worthy ministry or organization of your choice.

Is there someone that you've lost contact with? Maybe a old high school friend, maybe a old co worker, maybe a relative or close close family member? We all get busy and the freeway of life just seems to consume our time. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, best friends and people that we've spent time with just seem to fall onto the back burners of our life. Many times we are reminded of those people in thought. We make plans to contact them, but life's freeway once again consumes us. Maybe the Holy Spirit is putting someone on your heart right now. Take time and make that call. You just might put a smile on some one's face.

Remember, we all can make a difference. In our homes, in our communities, with our families, on the job and at every corner. Each one of us has something to add to our world to make it a better place. Take time and make time to make a difference, a positive difference in the lives of others. Be a blessing to others and encourage them with your love and friendship.

It's easy to get off course. Sometimes we don't even realize that we've gotten off course and by the time we wake up and see that fact, it's almost too late to undue all the wrongs. It's as if the path just got wider and wider and we didn't see it happening. The other reality is that sometimes people just don't want to see the course that is unfolding, as if it doesn't exist. Then in the end, they make excuses for the losses and by that time the losses are great. Sometimes even the fall is great.

Jesus spoke of the straight and narrow saying few be there that find it. On the flip side Jesus spoke to the wide and broad saying that many go therein. Regardless of where you are on that path, stay focused on Christ and the sayings of Jesus.

The wave of 2009! Revival is coming, coming, coming....

It's exploding here, there, over there, next week, well you don't want to miss out, it's happening, outpourings, fire, waves, shaking, healing's, miracles, stones falling from heaven, oh wait, but over at that church, this church, next week, next conference and on and on it goes.

The music is simply awing. The sounds overwhelming. The instruments simply of the finest. It's a concert. The Concert of all concerts.

It is the love of Christ being shed forth into your heart as the Holy Spirit fills you with the very love of God.

Do you ever feel that way. Like a 8 ball constantly being shot into the corner pocket? As if every time you get out and on the table, someone comes along and shoots you down?

Take cheer. Life does come with those that would constantly push you into corners, however with Christ's help you will defeat your enemies, overcome and find Victory.

I recall the day that I decided to dig into the depths of Christianity. It was the beginnings of a wonderful adventure into the loving arms of God.

I'm sure that many of you are aware of the hardships around the world and the affects on families and especially children. As a father with a wife and daughter I too worry about what the future holds at times with all the economic problems that have and continue to come forth. Yet here in the United States, well there is no comparison to what is happening in other countries. We have abundance even in hard times, while others lack everyday regardless off world situations.

Personally, I find the following ministry to be a ministry of integrity that truly seeks to be a blessing to so many countless millions. Check Feed The Children out and simply allow God to speak to your heart.

2008 is simply past history and 2009 is upon us. Our world is struggling in so many areas, in so many situations and the circumstances, well, they just seem to be intensifying.

Much like watching a hurricane building and creating strong winds. However, there is a eye in the midst of such storms where the air currents are calm.

May the Prince of Peace be the eye of the storms that arise in your life. May Christ be the Rock that you stand upon and may the Spirit be the wind in your sails.

I believe that 2009 will bring a new season in America. However, I am yet convinced that this new season will not come without extreme hardships, trials and changes for the nation.

You see, it is my opinion that our nation has fallen from the grace of God. One might say how so? That's simple:

We are not finding the favor and blessing of God upon our nation or people. We say on the back of our money 'In God We Trust", however it seems to me that America has put her trust in everything but God.

Maybe as a country and a nation, we should return to the very God that our fore father's so spoke about, trusted and believed in. Maybe as a country and a nation we should return to the moral standards that were a part of making this nation a great nation. Maybe as a nation and people we should apply the following:
